Solar desalination is a technique to desalinate water using solar power. There are two basic ways of achieving desalination by using this technique; direct as well as indirect. There are two primary method of achieving desalination using solar power, through a phase change by thermal input, or in a phase through mechanized separation. Phase change (or multi-phase) may be accomplished by either direct or indirect solar distillation.
