Social stratification identifies a system with which a society ranks families of people in a hierarchy. In the USA, it is completely clear that a number of groups have greater status, power, and also wealth than other groups. These differences are what result in social stratification. Social stratification is a society’s categorization of people into socioeconomic strata, in relation to their occupation and income, wealth and social status, or derived power.
