Carbon Microphone is also recognized as carbon button microphone or a carbon spreader. It consists of two metal plates divided by carbon granules. One of the plates faces outwards and acts as a diaphragm. Benefit of carbon microphone is that it could be used to increase fragile signals and propel them down the line. This is probable as it works by altering a current passing through it, instead of generating a signal voltage as in the case of most of the microphone sorts.
