Employees in the tech industry create wonderful consumer-facing apps for the rest of the world. They are, however, forced to use applications that do not communicate properly with one another for internal communications.

This is a concern because most employees in a mid-sized or large company spend a quarter to a third of their time on internal communication apps.

Now, a San Francisco-based startup is seeking to develop software that makes interacting with business services far more comfortable.

In an interview with TechCrunch, Sahil Aggarwal, co-founder, and CEO of the eponymous business, revealed that Rattle is constructing a real-time and collaborative “connectivity tissue” to solve the compartmentalized nature of modern record-keeping and intelligence platforms.

“For example, you use Salesforce for two things: you write data into Salesforce and you take data out of Salesforce,” he explained. “What Rattle does is it allows you to put all of your Salesforce insights into a messaging platform and then publish data back into Salesforce from the messaging platform.”

Rattle’s use case encompasses a wider range of services. It can detect phone calls and prompt users to log them and explore such opportunities on Slack.

“We began by connecting Slack and Salesforce, and now that they’ve been acquired, the concept has been proven. It’s really revolutionary for businesses,” said Aggarwal, who got the idea for this firm while working at his previous company and receiving positive feedback on an app he made for the internal team.

The startup, which began its offering in March, has already seen a conversion rate of over 70% among businesses that have tried it out. Terminus, Olive, Litmus, Imply, and Parse.ly are among Rattle’s more than 50 customers.

“[Our] lead response time has gone down by 75%, and crucial procedures have gone from days to minutes,” stated Jeff Ronaldi, GTM Ops Manager at LogDNA, after deploying Rattle. On Tuesday, the startup revealed that it had raised $2.8 million in a seed round from Lightspeed and Sequoia Capital India.
