A very Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening to Honorable Principal Sir/Madam, respected teachers, seniors, and my dear friends, Warm Greetings to Everyone!
On behalf of ………(Institutions Name), I extend a very warm welcome to all of you present here on the 12th annual sports meet of our school/college/university. Sports are an integral as well as a necessary part of our lives.
Sports Day at ABC School/College/University (Institutions name) is a platform to showcase the talent and efforts put in by the student to make it a successful event. Sports here at this institution is not only about competition, but it is also about having fun, being physically active, learning the basics of sports and building coordination and teamwork and so to give the students an opportunity to display their talent, self-confidence, patience, zeal, and sportsmanship. Participation in sports can help build self-esteem, confidence, and can motivate students to excel academically and can help build their social skills. It can even teach the student the ways and benefits of goal setting & practice.
So, with this purpose, we organize a sports meet every year in an order where 100% participation is encouraged and each participant is rewarded and it is the participation of children that is most important for us and gives us immense joy. This year our institution has been declared as one of the best institutions of the city which has included and is following extra-curricular activities in the daily time-table. I wish to thank and congratulate each one of you dear parents for, without your support, it would not have been possible for us. Dear parents, what you see today, is the culmination of massive, continuous efforts put in by the students and teachers. So, sit tight and cheer our students with your generous applause.
More than 1100 students participated in the customized and fun-filled track and field events such as 100-meter dash, 4 x 100-meter relay, obstacle race, mini cross country, skin the snake, treasure hunt, sack race, long jump, high jump, medley relay, cricket, football, badminton, musical chair, shot put, javelin, cockfight, balloon bursting, three-legged race, and PT display. Parents too participated in the 4 x 100 m enthusiastically to mark the sports day.
I am pleased to share that the distinguished guest to honor us with her presence today as the Chief Guest of our Sports day is none other than XYZ (Name of Guest), the legendary sportsman. Our Guest of honor doesn’t require any formal introduction as you all must have heard about his deeds, endeavors, and endless contribution towards sports and society. He/She is a very respectable personality who is widely known to have put in a lot of efforts in encouraging women empowerment, girl child education, sports and setting up of old age homes, orphanages, and many more accomplishments in the area of social service.
So, with a huge round of applause, let us please call upon our Honorable Chief Guest XYZ (Name of Guest) to grace the dais and share his/her inspiring life story with all of us here.
