The Annual Day is a very important day for all schools/colleges. The students get a chance to display their talents in front of a big audience. The Annual Day of our school/college was held last year on 10th December, and on the auspicious day of our school/college completing its 25 years and celebrating its Silver Jubilee function. The preparations begin almost two to three weeks in advance with lots of rehearsals. The whole institution becomes suddenly much more active. Since the weather also becomes pleasant, our enjoyment increases tremendously. The School/College auditorium had been prepared for the occasion. It was decorated with flowers of paper. It looked very beautiful. The function began at 3 p.m. as per schedule. First of all our Principal welcomed the Chief Guest, Minister for Sports and Youths, and detailed our school’s achievements in studies and other activities. He/she was also welcomed with a bouquet of flowers presented by two talented students. Then the Chief Guest gave a short but very hilarious speech full of anecdotes of his own school life. The cultural show began with a welcome song and a player song. The first item was presented by junior class students. They were dressed up as flowers and looked very lovely. They danced all around the stage without making a single mistake. Everyone clapped loudly. There was a short local dance price by a very talented girl of our institution. There were some solo and group songs and dances after that. One English skit was played too. The English one was Shakespeare’s ‘Taming of the Shrew’. It was appreciated very much. We also had a miming act and magic show presented by two boys. All the parents and other guests enjoyed the whole evening very much. It was a well organized show. We felt very happy when we heard the loud clapping. The Chief guest came up on the stage and gave away some prizes. He/she praised our institution and its students very much. Our principal gave a short history of the institution and read out the annual report. He/She also gave a volt of thanks to the chief guest and all the other guests. Finally, the National Anthem was sung and the Annual Day came to an end. We enjoyed it very much. It was a well organized show and my parents also admired it. I cannot forget it.
