Meaning of Winsock

Winsock defines the typical boundary between the client’s application of Windows IP and its fundamental procedure stack. Its classification is dependent on Berkeley Sockets API that is used in BSD for the reason of communicating programs. Primarily, there was much argue with respect to its name change as there was confusion regarding API and DLL file, which exposed Winsock boundary to the applications past it.
