Six Sigma seeks to improve the grade of process outputs simply by identifying and removing what causes errors and reducing variability in manufacturing and business functions. It uses a set of quality management procedures, mainly empirical, record methods, and creates its own infrastructure of people within the organization who are experts in these methods. Each Six Sigma project completed within an organization follows a defined sequence of steps and contains quantified value finds, for example: lower process cycle time period, reduce pollution, reduce costs, increase customer satisfaction and increase gains.
