Generally, Integrated logistics support (ILS) programs and directs the detection and development of logistics assistance and system requirements pertaining to military systems, with with regards to creating systems that go longer and require less assistance, thereby reducing costs as well as increasing return on investments. ILS therefore addresses these areas of supportability not only in the course of acquisition, but also during the entire operational life cycle in the system.
