The conservation economics of biodiversity biodiversity is a major environmental issue, one that promises to be at or near the the top environmental agenda for the near future. The loss of biodiversity affects human welfare and also being lamentable for a unique sake. Humans depend on pure systems to produce a wide variety of ecosystem goods and solutions, ranging from direct using certain species for meals or medicines to ecosystem functions that offer water purification, nutrient retention or climate regulation.
