Diseases of poverty can be a term sometimes utilized to collectively describe ailments, disabilities, and medical conditions that are more predominant among the inadequate than among richer people. In many cases poverty is considered the leading risk element or determinant regarding such diseases, and in some cases the diseases themselves are seen as barriers to economic development that could end poverty.
