Appropriate technology is mostly discussed in its relationship to economic development and instead of transfers of capital-intensive technologies from industrialized nations to developing international locations. However, appropriate technology movements come in both developing as well as developed countries. In developed countries, the appropriate technologies movement grew outside the energy crisis with the 1970s and focuses mainly on ecological and sustainability problems.
