It is a broadly described annual report of Bangladesh Building System Limited in the year of 2016. Gross profit of the Company during the year was Tk. 60.58 Crore as against last year’s gross profit of Tk. 49.65 Crore gross profits increased due to the increase in sales volume and decrease the overall cost of goods sold compared to last year. The year’s cost of goods sold was Tk. 175.90 Crore (74.38% of sales) as compared to last year’s cost of goods sold of Tk. 144.90 Crore (74.41% of sales). The Company earned the net profit during the year amounting to Tk. 25.01 Crore as compared to last year’s net profit of Tk. 24.59 Crore.
The Board of Directors of the Company has recommended @10% Stock Dividend and @5% Cash Dividend (excluding Sponsors) for consideration in this Annual General Meeting by the members. These financial statements are presented in Bangladesh Taka (Taka/Tk/BDT) which is the company’s functional currency. All financial information presented in Taka has been rounded off to the nearest Taka.
