It is a broadly described annual report of Square Pharmaceuticals Limited in the year of 2003-2004. The company contributed an amount of Taka. 1,102,617,542 (including Tk. 10,984,279 as contribution towards machinery & spare parts imports) to National Exchequer as against Taka. 978,032,738 in the previous year indicating an increase of 12.74%. During the financial year, The Company’s Total Gross Turnover Tk. 5,482,088 million. Cost of Goods Sold Tk. 2,814,960 million. Gross Profit Tk. 1,906,592 million. Profit before tax Tk. 1,151,636,314 million. Net Profit after Tax for the year Tk. 970,043,543 million. The Earning per Share of Tk. 169.45 is based on increased outstanding 3,600,000 shares of Tk. 100 each. However, if the original issued capital for cash at the time of IPO is considered, the EPS would stand at Tk. 485.02 in 2003-2004 as against Tk.379.72 in 2001-2002 and TK.382.44 in 2002-2003.

The Board of Directors also proposed 720,000 Bonus Shares (Stock Dividend) at the rate of 01 (one) share for every 05 (five) shares. The total amount of proposed Bonus Share (Stock Dividend) for the year is calculated at Tk. 72,000,000. These financial statements are presented in Bangladesh Taka (Taka/Tk/BDT) which is the company’s functional currency. All financial information presented in Taka has been rounded off to the nearest Taka.
