This officer is usually responsible for financial planning and record-keeping, along with financial reporting to higher management. In some sectors the CFO is usually responsible for investigation of data. The title is the same as financial director, a common title on the globe. The CFO commonly reports to the chief executive officer and to the actual board of directors, and may additionally take a seat on the board.
