Abduction is a crime punished by a prolonged jail. While it is general to see abduction charges in attendant to other additional severe offenses, such as armed robbery or rape, they may be standing unaccompanied charges too. As confirmation from the examples above, common, otherwise law abiding people can find themselves in situations where they can be charged with felony abduction.
