The annual sports of (institution name)……..School/College was held yesterday with a lot of festivity. The Principal of the School/College presided over the function and the renowned educationist Mr./Mrs._______(Name) was the chief guest on the occasion.
The school/college premises and the main building were nicely decorated. Sufficient seating arrangements were made for guests, teachers, and students. A good number of local people also gathered on the occasion.
The day’s program started with the hoisting of the national flag. Immediately after this, the march past of the students was held and the chief guest took the salute. Then with due solemnity, the national anthem was sung. After that, the Principal announced the opening of the sports.
There were many events. The first event was the 100m race. This was followed by the 800m relay race. The other events included Kabadi, disc throwing; bicycle riding, football, cricket, etc. All these events were very exciting.
The last event of the day was the prize-giving among the winners. But before this, the invited guest delivered a short speech to the students. He/she said, “Outdoor sports are very helpful for the students. Sports help the students to be healthy physically and mentally.”
Lastly, the winner’s names were called, and they came one by one to receive the prizes from the hands of the chief guest. The program ended with the Principal’s thanks-giving speech.
